NOTE: We thread barrels the correct way using a proprietary method - concentric to the bore using custom alignment tools/jigs that allow us to dial in on the actual bore, then mount it in a lathe that way. A popular misconception is the best way to thread barrels is between centers. This can cause problems with suppressors/silencers, especially with sporter weight barrels as the bore is almost never concentric with the OD and often are not straight. The problem is exaggerated even more if the barrel needs to be shortened. It often also requires needlessly removing the barrel such as on a Remington 700, which can affect accuracy.
| REFINISHING |
| We use a hot bluing system (Mil-std-171 / Milspec MIL-C-13924C, Class 1), as used by Remington® and Savage®. We combine this with a light aluminum oxide blasting to produce a non reflective rich matt black (most other refinishers charge extra for this) The finish holds oil well and is corrosion resistant. It withstands 100-300 hours salt spray, depending on the sealant oil used. Refinishing examples:  |
